A Phoenix father lived a nightmare Thursday afternoon when he found his toddler daughters dead in a backyard pool.
First responders declared the 3-year-olds dead at the scene on 67th Avenue and Lower Buckeye Road just before 3:30 p.m.
The father initially called for help reporting an unconscious child but crews were shocked to find out that two girls had drowned.

When firefighters arrived at the scene, the father was already trying CPR.
“You can imagine what that would look like, how taxing that would be,” Phoenix Fire Captain Rob McDade said.
“A tremendous tragic scene.”
Investigators do not suspect foul play in the incident.
