New York City news, New York news.

A New York City girl is dead and another is facing serious charges after a fatal stabbing in the courtyard of a Bronx building Thursday afternoon.

The 15-year-old suspect was arrested on charges of murder, manslaughter, and criminal possession of a weapon in connection to the killing of 17-year-old Emery Mizell.

Witnesses recalled seeing a mob of teens surrounding Mizell before she was stabbed in the chest and left to bleed outside the residential building near Watson Avenue.

“I thought they were playing,” witness Jerry White said. “They were just kids. Then people were running back and forth getting tissues to stop the bleeding.”
