Former UCF tight end Jake Hescock passed away over the weekend after suffering a sudden heart attack while jogging in Boston.
The 25-year-old collapsed after suffering cardiac arrest and despite a passerby’s quick intervention, he died from severe brain trauma.
“It is with a heavy heart that I have to say my cousin Jake has passed on. May he rest in peace, and forever shine his bright soul upon us,” Lisa Walz Mlynarczyk said on Facebook.
Tributes poured in from the Pittsfield native’s former Wisconsin and UCF teams following the grim news of his untimely passing.
“Saddened to learn of the passing of former Badger Jake Hescock. Taken from us too soon. Our thoughts are with his family and friends,” the Wisconsin Football Program said on Twitter.
