NJ authorities investigate what triggered school bus fire on busy highway

New Jersey officials have launched a probe into a school bus fire that erupted on a busy highway Wednesday afternoon.

The eleven occupants of the bus, the driver and ten high school students, managed to flee to safety when flames caught the vehicle on the Garden State Parkway in Upper Township.

    “We want to thank everyone for their quick thinking and smart response during today’s incident. The students acted swiftly and calmly as they followed the driver’s directions to exit the bus as soon as a problem was identified,” School Business Administrator Timothy Kelley said following the incident.

    “They should be commended, and we are thankful that everyone is safe.”
