A Marine died Thursday evening during a training exercise in Camp Lejeune in Jacksonville, North Carolina, the Marine Corps said.
The Marine who was not immediately identified was with the 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit.

The service member passed away during an exercise in Carteret County, North Carolina, officials said.
Fourteen Marines have died this year, all in combat. 11 of them were active duty and three were in the Marine Forces Reserve.
Thursday’s death remains under active investigation.
