Parents arrested after month-old infant found dead with trauma injuries on SI

The parents of a month-old boy were arrested Saturday after he was found lifeless with trauma injuries on Staten Island, Police said.

Officers found the infant “unconscious and unresponsive” with “visible signs of trauma to the left arm” when they responded to the West Brighton Houses at about 6:45 a.m.

    Authorities announced the arrests of the baby’s parents, 38-year-old Leonard Lightfoot and 36-year-old Jenice Lightfoot, in connection to the tragic death.

    The couple was charged with first- and second-degree reckless endangerment as the investigation into the baby’s death continues.
