Car crashes into Milwaukee County bus leaving 1 dead; 9 injured

A passenger car crashed into a Milwaukee County Transit System bus Saturday evening killing one person and hurting nine others, police said.

The accident, the second crash involving an MCTS bus in just two days, occurred at around 9:30 p.m. on 35th Street and Wisconsin Avenue.

The deceased victim was identified as a passenger in the car. The 29-year-old driver and another passenger, 33, survived the crash with life-threatening injuries.

    Charges are pending against the 29-year-old car driver who is currently in custody while hospitalized.

    “Enough is enough. Reckless driving is an epidemic. And we must keep working to end traffic violence, ensure our neighborhoods are peaceful, and save lives,” said MCTS Manager of Marketing and Communications Anna Schryver.
