Two Lamar Consolidated ISD teachers were found dead after an apparent murder-suicide incident at their Fort Bend County home.
Deputies with the Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office made the grisly discovery of the teachers’ body inside a home on Darst Field Trail on Monday while conducting a welfare check.
The victims were identified as Alba Marina Garcia and Gene Mark Hudgson-Sjogreen, both 34-year-olds and fourth-grade teachers.
Hudgson-Sjogreen’s father told detectives that his son had been planning to go fishing on Sunday before he vanished.
Authorities said that there were signs of a struggle inside the home.
“It’s sad. It’s tragic. It’s heartbreaking,” a neighbor said. “They were young. They were school teachers, third and fourth grade respectively. I think about the children they taught.”
