LI volleyball coach steps in front of train; commits suicide amid juvenile rape accusations

A Long Island volleyball coach tragically ended his life Friday hours after appearing in court on rape charges.

22-year-old Jason Maser “intentionally” stepped in front of an Long Island Rail Road train in Syosset at around 10:30 p.m.

First responders declared him dead at the scene and no foul play was suspected in the death.

    He was accused of raping a 15-year-old girl he coached at Sacred Heart Academy and B&B Volleyball Club.

    Maser’s attorney John Carman stated that he was “not in a position to comment” on the incident.
