A 4-year-old Texas boy died Monday after he suffered a medical emergency at an early education center in Odessa, officials said.
The child suffered an unspecified health emergency at Lamar Early Education Center and was taken to an area hospital where he later passed away.
“We are devastated,” said Ector County ISD Superintendent Scott Muri. “The loss of a child creates unimaginable pain.”

An investigation into the child’s death is ongoing.
“The entire ECISD team extends our deepest condolences to the student’s family.”
