Ga. guard shoots, killed inmate who pepper-sprayed her& fellow officer at hospital

A Georgia inmate was shot and killed by a guard after he attacked the officers who escorted him to a local hospital on Tuesday.

Jacob Henson, 31, was gunned down by one of two corrections officers who brought him to Washington County Regional Hospital to receive treatment for stab wounds he sustained during a fight.

    The other guard then fired shots at Henson as he charged at her. Washington County Sheriff Joel Cochran said the incident “appeared to be an escape attempt.”

    A spokesperson for the Georgia Department of Corrections said the two officers involved in the shooting have been placed on administrative leave after the injured officer received treatment.
