A Louisiana father and son got into an argument about who would pay a restaurant bill before things took a tragic turn on Thursday.
Lucas Stowe, 37, was allegedly caught on surveillance footage from outside the Gonzalez Mexican Restaurant in Columbia running over his father, Luther Stowe.
The Caldwell Parish Sheriff’s Office said Lucas waited for his 64-year-old father to exit the restaurant where they had just eaten before “rapidly” accelerating and hitting him.
The suspect then took off in his white Ford but was followed by an off-duty deputy who witnessed the incident.
He was arrested in front of another restaurant and taken to Caldwell Parish Annex.
Luther Stowe suffered from extreme trauma injuries and died at a hospital.
Witnesses told investigators the father and son were arguing about who would pay the restaurant bill before the incident.
