Homeowner charged with murder for fatally shooting teen filming pranks in his backyard

A homeowner was charged with murder after he allegedly shot and killed a teen filming pranks in his Virginia backyard early Saturday.

Tyler Chase Butler, 27, was charged with second-degree murder, malicious wounding, and two counts of use of a firearm.

Police said Butler opened fire at three teens filming TikTok videos outside his home at around 3 a.m., killing 18-year-old Michael Bosworth Jr. and hurting another teen.

    The boys told officers they were filming ding-dong ditch pranks for TikTok and showed them previous videos.

    Bosworth was a senior and a lacrosse and football player at Massaponax High School.

    “I’m sorry the kid did that. I wish he hadn’t done what he did because he had to pay the ultimate price. Nobody likes that. Nobody. Not even the homeowner,” a neighbor said.
