A Waynesboro teen is facing criminal charges after he stabbed his dad several times with a steak knife Monday during an altercation when he became enraged about attending school the following day.
The attack occurred at a Washington Township property at about 7:15 p.m. Deputies found Jeremy Lee Rife’s father bleeding from serious wounds in his chest after being brutally stabbed with a steak knife “with so much force that it bent it,” court documents mentioned.
Once he was arrested, Jeremy Lee Rife told cops: “I tried to murder my father. I was trying to send him to heaven.” He is being held in Franklin County Jail and has been charged with attempted third-degree murder and aggravated assault. His bond is set at $250,000.
