Tooele news, Utah news.

Utah authorities are weighing in on the case of a 9-year-old boy accused of brutally killing his dad last month.

The 31-year-old man was found lying in a pool of blood on the night of February 16 in his Tooele home.

“The victim and his son retired to bed early due to behavioral problems and went into the bedroom that they share,” an investigator said in the warrant.

“The victim’s son later emerged from the room and said that his dad was bleeding from the head and was dead.”

A previous roommate of the father and son said that the boy once “choked her when they were playing on the trampoline.”

A current roommate called 911 describing that the victim was “bleeding severely from his head, his ears, and his mouth.”

“He’s in a pool of blood,” the horrified woman told the dispatcher.

Officers determined that the father had been shot in the back of the head and then struck with an edged weapon. Doctors ruled that the wounds couldn’t be self-inflicted.

“Some were to the back of the head and there were fresh and bleeding cuts to the side, fingers, and arm, which the doctor said appeared to be defensive wounds.”

The boy is currently in police custody but no information is available about the charges he faces.
