A Minnesota boy is fighting for his life after a 13-year-old girl shot him in the head Friday night.
St. Paul Police said that a 34-year-old man was arrested in connection to the shooting that occurred shortly before 9 p.m. in the 800 block of Pierce Butler Route.
Officers found an 11-year-old boy suffering a gunshot wound to the head and rushed him to an area hospital.
Police on Saturday listed the victim in critical condition at Gillette Children’s Hospital.
Investigators learned that the boy was shot by a 13-year-old girl and began looking for her.
The teen was located in the 100 block of Charles Avenue and was taken into custody without incident.
The girl will be placed at the Ramsey County Juvenile Detention Center on charges of second-degree assault.
Authorities said the 34-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of felony possession of a firearm by an ineligible and gross misdemeanor negligent storage of a firearm.
Two handguns were recovered from the residence where the shooting took place, police said.
