A nationwide manhunt is ongoing for a former Yakima, Washington Police officer accused of fatally shooting women and abducting a 1-year-old child in West Richland.
An Amber Alert was issued for the kidnapped child after 40-year-old Elias Huizar fled the scene of a fatal shooting at William Wiley Elementary School where he allegedly killed his ex-wife.
The body of Huizar’s girlfriend was discovered at his home. The suspect is believed to have abducted 1-year-old Roman Huizar, though their relationship remains unclear.
Police described the suspect as “likely to commit more crimes” standing 5 feet 6 inches tall with brown hair and eyes.
In an update, West Richland Police said Huizar was seen Monday night driving a black sedan in Portland, Oregon.
Huizar was facing rape and furnishing alcohol to minors in Benton County.
