Authorities in New Mexico have issued an Amber Alert for a missing 10-month-old girl whose mother was shot to death in an area park Friday afternoon.
Police believe Eleia Maria Torres was abducted from the shooting scene where her 23-year-old mother Samantha Cisneros was shot and killed along with Taryn Allen, also 23.
The baby’s 5-year-old sister was found at the scene with a head injury. She was taken to Plains Regional Medical Center and then to a Lubbock, Texas hospital.
Detectives determined that the baby was abducted by the shooter after finding a car seat, a small baby bottle, and a stroller at the scene.
After asking family members, their fears were confirmed as they learned that Cisneros had two daughters, a 5-year-old and a 10-month-old.
The suspect was spotted leaving the park in a maroon Honda car.
Anyone with information about the kidnapped infant or the suspect is asked to call the Clovis Police Department at (575) 769-1921 or call 911.
