DeKalb County news, Georgia news.

Police in DeKalb County have identified a suspect in the murder of a 35-year-old woman who was shot to death in her own business last week.

Jalisa Abney and a 37-year-old male victim were shot last Wednesday near her business in the 2900 block of Moreland Avenue.

“She’s been in the Army, and she owned two businesses. She had a trucking company, and she also had a tint company, where she would wrap cars and put tint on,” her cousin Norell Combs said.

Investigators identified a suspect and said he knew the victim. They are currently “actively searching for him.”

“What we do know is that she did absolutely nothing to him, and she did not see it coming, and she did not have time to react,” Combs added.

“It seems like an open-and-shut case because we know who it is, most people don’t. We still want to trust the process, but also not fall on the back burner.”
