A Wisconsin father is behind bars after he allegedly crashed into a family in an intentional act of retaliation for his child.
Prosecutors alleged that Jeffery Endres, 49, intentionally drove over a curb straight into Dr. Kami Hansen, her husband, and their son while they walked their dog in Cottage Grove on April 28.
“If he’s telling you he veered off the roadway, then he’s lying to you. I saw that vehicle jerk,” a witness said.
Multiple witnesses reported seeing the car speed up and hit the family.
Hansen and the family dog died in the incident. Endres stayed near the scene and told officers he lost control of the vehicle.
Authorities said Endres likely acted intentionally hours after receiving police reports about a “sensitive crime” involving his child and Hansen’s.
Endres and Hansen’s families were reportedly friends until allegations of the crime involving the two juveniles were brought forward in late March.
