Authorities in California charged a man with murder after his 6-year-old son died in a hot car Saturday.
Officers in Paso Robles responded to the incident just before 6 p.m. Saturday as temperatures in the city reached a record of 99 degrees.

Investigators said the boy’s father, 27-year-old Briant Reyes-Estrada, left his son in the parked car outside the Paso Robles Inn for several hours.
The father then took the boy to Twin Cities Hospital, where he was declared dead.
Police learned that Reyes-Estrada was working at the hotel during that time. He was arrested on suspicion of first-degree murder and willful harm or injury to a child.
