A Utah boy opened fire at a carnival killing three people, including an infant, and wounding two others late Sunday.
Two groups of people began arguing at WestFest at Centennial Park in West Valley City, just 100 yards from a police mobile command post.
“As [officers] approached to break up the altercation, a 16-year-old male from one of the groups pulled out a gun and fired,” authorities said.
The victims were identified as Hassan Lugundi, 18, Fnu Reena, 41, and an 8-month-old baby.
Lugundi was reportedly an intended target while Reena and the infant were randomly struck.
Two other teens, ages 17 and 15, were hospitalized with non-life-threatening wounds.
The suspect was arrested on charges of homicide. He was not publicly identified due to his age.
