A second 17-year-old boy was arrested in Dallas in connection with the murder of a 14-year-old in a crime the two teens had planned for weeks.

Juan Saucedo, 17, was arrested Sunday on capital murder charges in the fatal shooting of 14-year-old Adam Gutierrez.

The victim was found deceased in an alley behind a home in East Oak Cliff on March 13. His jewelry and clothing were reportedly stolen.

On March 31, police arrested 17-year-old Andrew Gallegos, who allegedly confessed to helping Saucedo lure Gutierrez to his death.

Saucedo initially plotted to stab Gutierrez at school, but Gallegos refused to help him. He then changed his plan and asked Gallegos to act like he wanted to buy a THC vape pen from the victim.

Once Gutierrez showed up for the deal, he was asked to come to the door of a house belonging to a relative of Saucedo.

Saucedo allegedly shot Gutierrez in the abdomen and dragged him into the alley where he robbed him.

Gallegos was also charged with capital murder of a person younger than 15 years old.
