Lynchburg news, Virginia news.

A Virginia mother was charged with homicide in the death of her baby, who died in late March from severe malnourishment and with his skin “peeling away.”

Endia Walker was already facing child neglect charges after her son was found unresponsive at a home on March 26.

The baby was rushed to a hospital, where he died a short time later. The mother was subsequently arrested.

The mother admitted that she would leave her children “for extensive periods of time without anyone supervising” them.

“A big thing we need to get out to the public is you need to reach out,” said Police Sgt. Barbara Gibson.

“There are plenty of resources out here. If your child is not acting the way they should be, then call 911. Let us come out, check, and get you in touch with resources.”
