Suspect in ‘vile, heinous’ murders of woman, child arrested in Florida

A Guatemalan migrant wanted for the vile, heinous killings of his girlfriend and her child was arrested Thursday, less than two miles from the crime scene.

Angel Cuz-Choc, 31, allegedly admitted to killing 36-year-old Amalia Coc de Pec and 4-year-old Estrella Pec Coc in a mobile home on Wednesday.

The woman was found brutally murdered in “her own puddle of blood” while her daughter was discovered inside the home.

  • “This murderer who brutally murdered and committed this heinous, vile, and unthinkable crime against these two innocent victims is under arrest,” said Hillsborough County Sheriff Chad Chronister.

    Cuz-Choc was found hiding in woods near Interstate 4 where officers arrested him with the help of a K-9 unit.

    He and the victims legally came to Florida from Guatemala about three months before the murders.
