One inmate was caught, and 10 others remain at large after they escaped from a New Orleans jail around midnight Friday.
Law enforcement shared a photo of a hole in the wall of the Orleans Justice Center through which the inmates managed to escape, leaving behind messages such as
“Too Easy LOL” and Catch Us When You Can.”
The escape was discovered Friday morning during a routine headcount. The escapees include several accused murderers.
“We are launching a full investigation to determine how this escape occurred, including reviewing facility protocols, staff performance, and physical security measures,” Orleans Parish Sheriff Susan Hutson said.
“Any lapses or failures that contributed to this incident will be addressed swiftly and with full accountability.”
