Harris County news, Texas news.

A Texas man was charged with murder after he allegedly beat another man to death, believing he had thrown a bottle of beer at him.

Ye Myint Aung, 38, was found dying on May 23 by a friend, about 12 hours after he was beaten at least 20 times to the head.

He succumbed to his injuries on May 25. His death was ruled a homicide.

Harris County authorities questioned several witnesses and reviewed hours of surveillance footage before identifying 22-year-old Lansselo Martinez.

Martinez, apparently ignoring that he had placed the bottle there himself, started accusing patrons of throwing it before turning his attention toward Aung.

The victim staggered outside the business before collapsing. He was not discovered until the following morning by his friend Lakisha Wilks.

“He could have been saved, I truly believed. He could have been saved! I didn’t get there until 9:30 at night,” Wilks said.
