Newport News news, Virginia news.

Authorities in Virginia charged a 30-year-old man in connection with the gruesome slaying of a mother whose body was found “shoved” in a closet of her home in April.

David Anderson was charged with first-degree murder for the slaying of Imani Parrish, 28, who died from blunt force trauma to the head.

The partner of Parrish’s mother discovered her body inside her home on April 30 after she did not answer her 10-year-old son’s calls and texts.

While investigators did not specify the relationship between the victim and Anderson, Parrish’s mother revealed that he was someone close to her.

“She really cared about that person. She really cared, but justice, I hope, will be served. Turn yourself in, please,” she said last month.
