A Vermont man reported a horrific murder to police months after he witnessed his brother burn an elderly man’s remains in a firepit after killing him.
Brian Stacy told authorities Monday about the alleged heinous crime perpetrated by his brother, Justin Stacy, in February.
The two brothers were reportedly living at the Whittingham home of 75-year-old Robert Francis and taking care of him.
Brian told investigators he saw his brother attack the elderly man in the morning of February 10 as he left the home.
He returned to find the man dead and dismembered in the basement. Brian said his brother confessed to killing Francis.
Justin reportedly burned the victim’s remains in an outdoor firepit.
The suspect gave police different stories about Francis’ death. He said he and the victim shared a “grandfather and grandson.”
